Yomp for Zhi is a difficult turn-based RPG about a journey across Holtoss (a region riddled with crime and dangerous creatures). The unlikely heroes have a limited amount of days to rescue people who are going to be killed (including the titular Zhi).
No backtracking.
No getting lost.
0 HP means a character is dead for good.
Fast paced with no long animations.
Brutal long lasting injuries/ailments.
41 different characters to hire along the way (and 2 secret non-canon ones).
150+ enemy types!
6 unlockable difficulties and 2 unlockable bonus modes.
Most enemies can become temporary allies (referred to as Homies).
Dozens of enemy factions so enemies can often be seen attacking each other.
Weather conditions (including fog that can obscure the identities of enemies)
Under certain circumstances, enemies can return for revenge if they aren't killed.
The overworld often has an overwhelming amount of choice (hunting, shopping, selling, stealing, gambling, combining items, working, panhandling, fishing, etc.)
Things to note:
A mouse is highly recommended over using a laptop touchpad.
No controller support.
A successful run usually takes around 1-4 hours. There's a "Save & Quit" feature so you can resume a run later, but loading it will discard the saved run.
