Wish Upon

Wish Upon is the debut game from Inchworm Games! It’s ½ part cozy, ½ part art project, ½ part space-frogger-metroidvania-lite that is perhaps way more challenging than we thought it might be...just like math!

About the Game

Harness all 150% of awesomeness as you steer and besteer StarCat on your quest to grant the wishes of the many puzzling planets throughout. Your prize, should you succeed?

…wait; why does there have to be a prize? You only do things because you get rewarded? You can’t help out a brutha or sista or terrestrial space structure just to be a good person/ethereal cat being? Ugh, ok. Fine…

Your prize is access to the private wishes of gamers just like you! We gathered, trimmed, collated, saddle-stitched, then stored those wishes in a box. From there, we mailed them to ourselves (priority), then opened the box, unloaded the box, sighed loudly and then put the wishes back in that same box because we just can’t. After procrastinating and baking 3 really quality loaves of chocolate babka over the course of a very eye-opening summer on a houseboat, we finally decided the wishes had ripened enough for planets to dish out at their discretion, which they will fully choose to exercise. Planet = diva. Never again.

Journey in and around hand-painted textures and experience light space exploration as you zoom, dash, swear, and perhaps even giggle your way through seven areas containing our delicious space machinations.

Turn sad planets to happy as you gather objects to grant their personal planetary wishes. In return, they might just grant you access to the inner feelings of another human that you may never forget.

  • Control StarCat with keyboard + mouse or controller

  • Meet a couple of pretty cool planets—and one jerk moon named Bobby Moonz.

  • Colorful visuals and characters created from hand-painted textures

  • Inspired by Paloma Cortez and Pamela Rachél’s “Secret Garden,” hear real wishes from real people who just need to get that wish out into the universe and off their shoulders!

What's with the weird cat thing?!

You mean StarCat? Or WishCat? Are there two cats? Who knows! All we know is that everyone loves cats! EVERYONE. Nope, shhhhhh. EVERYONE.

Are there cutscenes?

Yes. Just a few. We’re a small team and they hard.

Is Wish Upon available now?

&*#% yes it is!

…sorry, our cat got on the keyboard there. Please play! Please review—even if you think it's the worst thing in the universe. That's how we learn.
