About the Game

Winter Heat is a narrative game about love in the internet age.

Javiera Vera lives in the sweltering urban summer of Santiago, Chile.

Fukkoshi Shio lives in the snowy seaside town of Miyazu, Kyoto, in Japan.

The two are long-time internet friends, living across the world, across time zones, but with a bond as strong as the fiber optic cables connecting them. How will that bond transform, though, during one special December?

Follow Javi and Shio through their online lives as they grow even closer together.

Each copy of Winter Heat comes with a ROM of one of Javi and Shio’s favorite nostalgic games: Oomfie World IV: The 1994 Saga of Turbo.

After her best friend Dot is sucked into the hot new game console, Oomfie must traverse the digital world of Turbo and collect pieces of the Virtual Cuboid Console to send them both back. Journey through mysterious randomized Adventure Zones and collect RPG skills to power Oomfie up and help her save her best friend!

(Yeah, we made a mini-deckbuilder roguelike RPG as a sub-game within a romantic Yuri visual novel, why do you ask?)

Yuri Kissaten is a game studio that makes narrative-focused games about girls loving girls, founded in 2024 by Fruz and Beatrice Baker. We create experiences with strong stories and memorable characters. All Yuri Kissaten projects focus primarily on LGBTQ+ characters and their relationships, romantic and otherwise.
