About the Game

A dead man. A borrowed name. A case no one wants reopened.

Wild East: The Straw Man is a story-driven 2D point-and-click adventure set in the wild 1990s of Slovakia and Czechia.

Marek Varga is a young reporter at a small newsroom, sent to cover what looks like a routine death: a company director, a few suspicious papers, and another case everyone would rather forget.

But the dead man was not the person in control. He was a straw man: a name on documents, a signature where someone else needed one, and a body left behind when the scheme became inconvenient.

Together with Czech reporter Eva Svobodová, Marek follows answering-machine messages, old files, witness stories, locked doors, and uncomfortable favors through a world where the official version is rarely the true one.

Take your time. Read the room. Follow the paper trail.

This is a slower, atmospheric mystery built around conversations, observation, documents, inventory puzzles, and the strange logic of a decade where almost anything could be explained away with a stamp, a favor, or a missing file.
