About the Game

When Civilians Dig Holes is a casual incremental game where you dig one hole after another until you finally reach the other side of the world.

Hiring Your First Worm

Digging a hole to the other side of the world is a notoriously impossible task for one person. However, hiring the right number of Worms to dig can turn your dream into a reality. But the Worms aren't going to work for free...

Hiring Your First Bank Robber

Bank Robbers are great because they rob banks and bring back some of their money to you. You can use this money to pay the Worms' salaries, buy upgrades, or even hire more Bank Robbers!

Am I Legally Allowed to Dig a Hole to the Other Side of the World?

No you are not. You've received a digging permit in the mail from the Government, but the permit only states that you are allowed to dig your hole for "Research Purposes". But you are not going to let this stop you.

Convincing the Government That You Are Conducting Research While Actually Digging a Hole to the Other Side of the World

Luckily there are tons of very realistic artifacts buried underground that are just waiting to be dug up and collected! Once you have collected enough artifacts, the Government will let you apply for a new permit, and you'll be able to start digging a fresh hole with productivity increases to your animals and upgrades.

Where Should I Dig My Hole?

Surprisingly, all of your neighbors are really excited about your hole-digging operation. Some of them have even offered up their backyard as a location for you to dig your hole! You'll be able to choose from multiple different backyard locations each time you start digging a new hole. Each location has a unique set of upgrades that provide different play styles across prestiges.

Isn't it Physically Impossible to Dig a Hole to the Other Side of the World?

Perhaps in the real world. But the developer of When Civilians Dig Holes does NOT like programming physics systems, so you won't run into that issue in this game.
