About the Game

Sever the spread

A wildfire doesn't move - it connects. It crawls from tree to tree, tile to tile, and every healthy patch it touches becomes the next one to burn. You fly the only thing standing between the fire and the town: a single water bomber.

Read the fire. Cut the line

You can't put out an established blaze by flying over it. You win by getting ahead of it - soaking the healthy tiles in the fire's path so it runs out of places to go. Draw a wetline across the map and the flames die at its edge.

  • Fly the altitudes - Drop low over a lake to refill your tank, climb high to clear ridges, and level out to bomb. Speed and control shift with every altitude.

  • Drop water in bursts - Your trail of wet tiles is painted by the plane's own motion. Time your runs; a tank only holds so much.

  • Fight fire with fire - Light controlled backburns to starve an advancing front before it arrives.

  • Watch the wind - Shifting wind carries embers far downwind, opening new fires behind your line. The weather panel is your early warning.

  • Save what matters - Houses and towns are what you're scored on. Lose too much of the map and the run is over.

Every run is a triage problem

Do you chase the ember that just landed by the town, or hold the main line? Refill now and lose ground, or push one more pass on fumes? Levels are rated on how much you save - chase three stars, or just barely make it out.

Some tiles burns faster than others

Embers can turn fields into infernos, while thick forests gives you time to respond

Made for a 10 day game jam

Wetline started as a game jam game on the theme "Connections" and is now my first release. Hope you enjoy!
