About the Game

What grief does to those who stay

Pietro's attic room is exactly as he left it: the bass guitar on the wall, the CDs no one else would listen to, the plush turtle, the photo album full of the abandoned places he and his friends used to explore.

One at a time and months apart, his friends come to take something of his home, and each of them is pulled back into their memories of him, and into everything his death left behind: the anger, the guilt, the "what if I had noticed", and the silence of someone who was there for everyone except himself. In their dreams, each of them finally gets to ask Pietro what they never could.

We'll Meet Again is about what comes after: the slow, imperfect work of carrying someone with you without being crushed by them.

One loss, five points of view

The story spans one year. Each chapter is a season, and a different way of living with the same absence:
  • Eco, Pietro's dog, finds his room empty. She doesn't know what death is. She only knows he has always come back.
  • Nika, a violinist who speaks better with music than with words, keeps waiting for him on the path where she last saw him walk away.
  • Tomás, a medical student from Lisbon, doesn't know who to blame: Pietro, for leaving; himself, for not stopping it; or everyone who ever made him feel he wasn't enough.
  • Giselle, his childhood friend, deaf since an accident she survived as a girl, has made peace with his death, but not with the words left unsaid between them.
  • Pietro, finally, faces the people he left behind, and the question they all need answered: why?

How it plays

  • An interactive story. A mature, sensitive tale of grief and suicide, told from five points of view.
  • Explore abandoned places in 360°. Relive the friends' urban exploration trips inside panoramas of real abandoned places across Europe.
  • Build the album. Search each panorama for hidden details and photograph them to fill Pietro's memory album.
  • Your choices echo. Whether each friend manages to let go decides how the story ends, for them and for Pietro.
