About the Game

WAIFU STAHP: Kekkon Kiken (結婚危険) is a non-violent tower defense game where you distract and dusgust waifus so they don't meet and inevitably marry your friend.

Utilize over 100 different defenses to distract and disgust waifus until they lose interest in marriage so you can keep hanging out with your best bud. Don't worry, though, because these waifus will find love on another day - just not with your friend.

Travel through Tokyo and across Japan while making sure your friend remains single. Unlock a range of different defenses and test each to see which waifus hate - and which waifus love - these tasty and weeb-tastic that are at your disposal.

  • 25 levels planned (including tutorial)

  • Over 100 defenses (foods, animals, otaku culture relics)

  • Large number of waifus that react to each type of defense differently

  • Complex defense upgrade tree

  • Friend unknowingly walks towards waifus when bored

  • Unlock a new defense each time you complete a level

  • Skilled waifus that sabotage defenses (prototyping)

  • Bonus levels (undetermined, planned)

  • New Game + (undetermined, planned)

In WAIFU STAHP: Kekkon Kiken, you'll have to figure out which defenses will be best to use with each level and choose your basic defenses based on what upgrades you've unlocked so far. Some waifus gain the hope of marriage when encountering certain defenses, so make sure to keep a keen eye on the map to make sure you're not ensuring your friend finds a waifu today.

Level Plans

Levels are planned as 3 tutorial (Tokyo, Kyoto, Miyajima), 12 in Tokyo (one ward per month), and 12 across Japan (one prefecture per month). Bonus cherry blossom levels (planned to be smaller than main levels), 23 Wards (12 extra, full-scale), and 47 Prefectures (35 extra, full scale) are planned but depend on interest/development funds raised.

Upgrade Trees

Upgrade a burger to a double bacon cheeseburger or a spicy jalapeno burger (after unlocking jalapenos) through different upgrade lines.

Burger -> Cheeseburger -> Double Bacon Cheeseburger (or) Spicy Jalapeno Burger
Burger -> Burger Sushi -> Cheeseburger Sushi
Shiba Puppy -> Adult Shiba -> Old Shiba
Shiba Puppy -> Adult Shiba -> Shiba in a Samurai Outfit (or) Shiba in a Yukata

Friend Gets Bored?

Your friend needs to be constantly distracted or he will become bored and start walking towards the incoming hoard of waifus. Utilize a set of distractions that only impact him to make sure he doesn't decrease the playing field.

If you get too distracted and allow him to start moving across the map, you will end up having less space to put defenses, making the level harder to finish.

Current state of the game?

The game is currently playable with a few levels in development. Most of the game mechanics are finished and only a handful are remaining to be finalized. Non-game elements (menus, unlocking tree, etc.) are in the early stages of planning/development and are going to be finished after the demo comes out.

The first demo will pretty much be the tutorial levels, but will be a bit different from the final version to fit the demo format. This will hopefully be released soon.
