There is no single path through Vulpis.
Vulpis is a nonlinear pixel-art Metroidvania built around freedom of exploration. Stranded on a mysterious alien planet, a lone fox must find a way through a vast interconnected world — unlocking new abilities, discovering hidden routes, and deciding what to explore next.
Progression is rarely limited to a single destination. New abilities can open several different paths across the world, letting you choose the order in which you explore its regions, face its challenges, and uncover its secrets.
Find your own way
Explore 15 distinct interconnected biomes filled with alternate routes, hidden passages, collectibles, optional discoveries, and places whose purpose may only become clear much later.
New abilities do more than open the next door. They expand your options, allowing you to revisit familiar locations, reach previously inaccessible areas, and decide where your journey leads next.
Vulpis doesn't forgive mistakes
Vulpis is designed for experienced Metroidvania players. Combat, platforming, enemies, and bosses demand precision, observation, and persistence.
The game offers a single, deliberately demanding difficulty designed around its intended experience. Saving is deliberately old-school: reloading returns the world and your progress to the state of your last save. Push forward when you are ready — and know when it is wiser to turn back.

Far from the safety of home on Earth, the fox is alone on an unfamiliar planet filled with strange creatures, forgotten places, and unanswered questions.
What begins as a search for a way home gradually becomes a deeper journey into the mysteries of Vulpis. The more thoroughly you explore, the more of the planet's history, secrets, and hidden truths you may uncover.
