About the Game

VERDURE is an odd generator of plants and trees! It is a creative sandbox where you can trim branches and experiment with growth controls.

While there is a tutorial with a few objectives to get you started, VERDURE is primarily for open-ended plant design. Whether shaping a small bonsai tree, letting maple branches sprawl freely, or exploring how different settings affect them, you're the artist!

Each plant is generated from a unique seed that can be customized through a wide range of parameters, including trunk thickness, branch curvature, foliage shape and distribution, and color palettes. The original soundtrack, retro visuals and little hands-on growth interactions (like feeding a UFO to grow bigger plants) also give the game its distinctive feel.

You can:

  • Start from a random seed or design your own through the recipe panel

  • Trim and prune branches, or let them grow organically

  • Harvest plants that accumulate value over time and buy collection expansions

  • Choose combinations of unlocked backgrounds and foregrounds to suit your composition

  • Purchase additional tools and pots from the shop

  • Preserve your favorite creations across 50+ save slots, with indicative names like ‘Cactus,’ ‘Pine,’ or ‘Sakura’

VERDURE can be enjoyed in short, fidget-friendly sessions or over longer periods to gradually expand your collection and refine each plant's design.
