About the Game

In this atmospheric mix of point-and-click adventure and visual novel, you explore an unusually complex Venice through the eyes of Aiko, an introverted programmer, and Thea, a super-clever but sometimes quirky AI.

Complex puzzles, sensory illusions, and moral decisions challenge you. Reality and dreams, past and present begin to blur—and with them the question of what it actually means to be human.

  • Classic point-and-click adventure + visual novel game in a mysterious crime setting.

  • Fantastic hand-animated scenes, characters, and animations.

  • High-quality sound with a complete soundtrack and full voice acting for all characters.

  • Exciting fact-fiction story with real locations in Venice and real historical figures and events.

  • Three different endings depending on your decisions in the storyline.

  • Includes dynamic weather to experience Venice on sunny days, beautiful evenings, dark nights, or even heavy storms.

  • Humorous dialogue puzzles and countless fully-fledged NPCs.

The puzzles in Venice After Dark don't rely on speed, but on attention, interpretation, and perception. Many challenges arise from what you see—or overlook. Talk to the countless quirky Venetians to get clues, or search the detailed backgrounds for important items or secret passages.

  • Engaging logic puzzles such as hacking an elevator, investigating secret locations, or piecing together important clues.

  • Exciting day and night gameplay loop: Gather information during the day by traveling, talking to people, collecting items, and solving puzzles. Master auditory tasks and optical illusions at night.

  • Unique sensory gameplay that tests your skills based on real scientific experiments.

This Venice is populated by countless bizarre inhabitants. Every encounter is different, every dialogue holds surprises. Some will help you, others will try to manipulate you or have even worse intentions... Always by your side is Thea, a quirky but super-smart AI.

  • Hand-drawn characters with their own motivations and backstories.

  • Elaborate animations ensure dynamic dialogues and a wide range of emotions.

  • All dialogues are voiced by professional actors.

This Venice is different. It is a smorgasbord of crazy places, alleys, and secrets. Populated by a wide variety of characters. It will change over the course of the story. Due to sometimes drastic weather changes and different times of day, even familiar places offer new surprises and unique atmospheres time and again.

  • Many places actually exist, researched by our team on site.

  • Atmospheric and detailed backgrounds.

  • Different moods due to different times of day and weather changes.

  • A lively world with a multitude of dynamically animated characters and objects.

  • Many secret places are waiting to be discovered.

We are very aware of how important localization is—especially for a story-driven game like Venice After Dark.
At the moment, however, we simply don’t have the resources to support all the languages we would love to include. We hope the game will be well received so we can reinvest the revenue and gradually add more language options in the future.

If you have any ideas or know someone who could help us with translations, we would love to hear from you!
Feel free to reach out to us here on Steam or via our social media channels.

Thank you so much for your support!
