Autumn, 2005.
Nathan Mercer, a police officer, moves to the quiet town of Willowbrook, Washington, hoping to rebuild his life and leave the past behind.
A year earlier, he left his wife, Jessica, after discovering the extent of her destructive drug addiction. He cut all contact, moved to a new address, and believed she would never find him again.
Then, one night, Nathan realizes that Jessica has somehow discovered where he lives.
