About the Game

What is Typing Show?

Imagine practicing typing while feeling like part of a band. Learn to type faster while experiencing the adrenaline of a rhythm game. Learning is gradual and accompanied by evocative, procedurally generated melodies.

How does it work?

For every piano note, you must press a key on your computer keyboard. It’s a dual challenge: you have to press the right key at the right time.

Each note is a letter

You won't practice with standard words in your language; instead, you'll practice using piano notes. The sequence of letters is determined by the notes that make up the melody. Each lesson will have a different distribution. Rather than practicing by typing text, you practice by playing the piano.

Melody generator

Instead of a fixed list of melodies, you have a procedural generator. You can create a virtually infinite number of new melodies. If you don't like a melody, simply press a button to generate another one.

Short, simple melodies

Each melody lasts between 13 and 19 seconds, contains a maximum of 64 notes, and repeats four times during the show. The melodies are purely instrumental and piano-based.

Ideal for all skill levels

There are 42 typing lessons, starting with just two letters and progressing up to thirty. You can choose any lesson to start with. You can also customize the letter layout on the game's keyboard.
