TowerBound

There is no luck in this tower. Every monster, item, and locked door is deterministic — 50 hand-crafted floors forming one giant logic puzzle. Spend HP, gold, and keys in exactly the right order, or seal your own way forward. A pixel-art puzzle-RPG in the Tower of the Sorcerer tradition.

About the Game

There is no luck in this tower. No dice rolls, no misses, no critical hits. Every enemy's strength, every reward, every outcome is fully deterministic — which turns the entire climb into one enormous logic puzzle. And you can solve it.

Towerbound is a 2D pixel-art puzzle-RPG in the classic Tower of the Sorcerer tradition: climb fifty floors, key by key, fight by fight, decision by decision.

Every fight is decided before you take it

Walk into a monster and the outcome is already fixed by your stats and theirs. You can read exactly what a fight will cost before you commit. The challenge isn't surviving the fight — it's choosing which fights, in which order. Kill this guard now, or come back stronger? Open the red door, or hold the key?

Fifty hand-built floors. Zero procedural generation.

Every floor is a deliberately designed puzzle, not a random roll. HP, attack, defense, and gold are currencies — and spending them in the wrong order has real consequences. Fight too early, waste a key, or buy the wrong upgrade, and you can seal your own way forward. The tower doesn't kill you; your plan does.

Features

  • 50 hand-designed floors — every layout a deliberate puzzle
  • Deterministic, RNG-free combat you can calculate before you commit
  • Resource management as the core puzzle — HP, attack, defense, gold, and color-coded keys are all currencies
  • A growing toolkit of staffs, wings, pickaxes, and bombs — each one a new way to bend the tower's rules
  • Altars, merchants, and NPCs — power is for sale, if you can pay the price
  • Boss encounters and story beats woven through the climb
  • A bestiary that fills in as you defeat each foe
  • Full controller support — built with Steam Deck in mind
  • Warm, torch-lit pixel art in a single hand-crafted palette
