About the Game

"Do not trust the echo of a spell."

Mornhollow lies in shards—fractured by countless bottomless chasms and cold-glowing arcane rifts. Through this shattered realm crawl floating islands, broken cities, mana rifts, and roads that no longer agree on where they lead. At the heart of this devastation stands an old research spire, silent for three winters.

Your sister Mara entered the spire with rift scholars and debt-sworn sellswords. Only her satchel returned, carried by a courier aged a year in a single evening. Inside was a single note: "Do not trust the echo of a spell."

You descend. Equipped with a worn blade, a little medicine, and the kind of hope that survives because it is too stubborn to understand fear. Somewhere below wait the Archon's discarded experiments, the Arcane Rift, and the thing that learned Mara's name.

Key Features:

  • Unique Hearing Mechanic: Use your senses and hearing-based equipment to track approaching dangers in the dark before they see you.

  • ASCII with Modern Comfort: Enjoy a classic old-school presentation (with optional glyph sprites) paired with modern quality-of-life features like autosaves, UI scaling, accessibility options, and full controller support.

  • Tactical Turn-Based Combat: Every step counts. Engage in tactical combat utilizing melee weapons, countering enemy spellcasting, and managing status effects like fire damage or lifesteal.

  • Atmospheric Dungeon Crawling: Explore procedurally generated floors with distinct themes and varied room types—from dusty libraries and shrines to armories and dangerous mimic chests.

  • Deep Lore & Secrets: Decipher riddle inscriptions, find lore fragments, and unravel the dark secrets of Mornhollow and the Arcane Rift.
