Topobeam

About the Game

Topobeam is a puzzle game about redirecting lasers in different two-dimensional manifolds.  The levels operate on a grid system, but pay attention to how the sides of the grid are glued together as players, objects, and lasers can cross over these gluings to different parts of the level.

The gluing allows for many interesting phenomena central to solutions including:

  • Ability to make a laser run in a loop without cutting the inside off from the outside

  • Ability make a laser turn without a mirror

  • Ability to reorient objects by pushing them in a carefully-chosen loop

  • Ability for a laser to make a loop with fewer than three 90-degree turns

  • Ability to get the inside piece out of the box:

  • And much, much more
