About the Game

Thru is a modern day Oregon Trail.

Thru is a game about thru-hiking, which involves walking thousands of miles to get where you're trying to go instead of taking a bus like a sensible person.
Thru allows you to virtually thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail

-You start and work your way north or south evading the winter line.
- You begin with a generic hiker who you can customize and level up between sections and thrus.
- Every hiker generated is remembered, they remember all hikers they've interacted with.
- You can recruit hikers to your tramily for special bonuses and new encounter options.
- You start with a finite amount of money depending on difficulty.
- There is no health, only morale. If morale drops below 0 the hiker leaves trail and you lose.
- If the winter catches you you get off trail and lose.
- Can spend money to get morale in towns.
- Hikers have base physical stats and special abilities: stats include speed, hardiness, charisma, intelligence, etc. specials include: medic, eats half food, free housing etc.
- gear also provides bonuses but wears and breaks with miles.

Movement:
- move between landmarks in over world.
- Movement takes base units of time where you move your speed, basically you move once a day.
- Certain items and routes will enable quick movement for money, morale, etc.
