Thirsty Snail

Unhinged snails have taken over your desktop. A growing collection of weirdos — they bicker, they roast you, they judge your life choices. Your typing keeps them alive. They are not grateful.

About the Game

It's a normal day at your desk and there are snails everywhere.

A whole crowd of snails, each with its own personality and opinions. Strange species, fantasy designs, bizarre mutants, and combos that start arguing the moment they meet. Collect them for the album, watch them interact, or just let them do their thing while you work.

Snail Thirsty, Snail Foolish.

You Type, it rains.

Write code, grind out an essay, browse the internet. Every keystroke drops rain onto your screen, and that's how the snails stay hydrated.

Well-watered snails are energetic and active. Thirsty ones slow down and start looking for water. If they dry out completely, they retreat into their shells until your next typing session.

A Shell for Every Occasion

Samurai, ninja, pirate, vampire, wizard, scientist, mythical creature, strange mutant, and many more desktop residents waiting to be discovered.

Five rarity tiers. Unlock new snails through exploration, crafting, and idle rewards. The album is never truly full.

Hand-Drawn. Overdramatic.

Every snail has multiple individually drawn animation states. No simple recolors, no cheap reskins.

Happy ones bounce. Moody ones retreat into their shells. Small details like these are everywhere if you pay attention. Each one is worth watching on its own.

Can't shut up. Won't shut up.

Put two snails next to each other and they start talking. Some are polite, some pick fights. Different combos trigger completely different conversations.

They also react to your desktop interactions and may occasionally comment on them. Poke them too much and they get annoyed. Pick them up and they complain. Ignore them for too long, and they may come looking for trouble.

Even when nobody is paying attention, they keep themselves busy. They mutter to themselves, talk more at night, and may trigger hidden Easter eggs during special dates or random events. Special dates and random events hide extra content that you either stumble into or miss entirely.

Desktop interaction is designed around a local-first experience. The app does not read or upload the contents of your private files.

Grab. Drag. Drop.

Pick them up. Fling them around. Stick one to the side of the screen, and it will climb along the edge.

Drop one from too high and it panics into its shell. Let two favorites bump into each other and hearts show up.

Transparent background, sits at the bottom of your screen. Doesn't get in the way.

Race. Steal. Revenge.

Send one of your snails over to a friend's desktop.

Race them for water, or sneak in and skim some off the top. Your call.

Two snails, one screen, winner takes water.

Lost the race? Call for revenge. Caught mid-steal? Your snail slinks home with nothing. Travel Frog? Meet Thirsty Snail. Every race and every heist gets logged. Unclaimed water is one click away.
