About the Game

The Webring is an Old Internet experience that represents the golden days of personal homepages.

In The Webring, you'll take control of a simulated web browser and journey into a Geocities-inspired Old Internet recreation. Explore themed neighborhoods including AREA 51, Pet Paradise, and The Lab, where you'll find the residents' personal homepages.

You'll get around by clicking links, just like you'd do with a regular web browser.

The "Webmaster" is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps a resident has some clues for you.

The Webring is the result of nostalgia from someone who spent far too many nights on dial-up.

If you loved the late 90s of the Internet, or just always wanted to experience it, join us in The Webring.

How difficult is this game?

The experience is easy to enjoy, but if you want to achieve full completion, some knowledge of basic cryptography (or a bit of in-game research) will be required.

How long will I be logged on for?

The Webring is an experience that can last as long as you like, but you can expect to do everything within an hour.
