Most teenagers who read Jack Kerouac’s On the Road dream of setting out on a spontaneous cross-country trip with their best friends. This summer, you’ll get that chance—as Kai, a high schooler from New Lake Town, you’ll dive headfirst into a surreal journey spanning the continent from east to west. What is it about Route 66 that draws people in?

In a generation that’s “spiritually lost,” rock, heavy metal, and growling vocals are already outdated. As a high schooler, knowing how to pick locks and read tarot cards isn’t exactly groundbreaking.
