About the Game

8 years of solo development, 2 years with a wonderful team...
The Panic Pit is what happens when you refuse to compromise on a vision no one asked for: a soulslike roguelite where every word is authentic Arabic poetry.

Authentic Arabic poetry forms the core language of the game. Some written by me, some drawn from legendary poets. Every line chosen with precision to reflect the depth of the story. Subtitles available ofcourse.

You play as the Last Thought of Hope, an undead skeleton fighting through a landscape of intrusive thoughts, despair, and psychological decay. Every enemy, space and encounter is drawn from how the mind turns against itself in it's darkest hours.

We created a hybrid procedural generation system, where every layout is shaped by both algorithm and human design working together.

This reflects my theory on psychology: the mind is never static. It shifts, adapts, decays, and reforms.

Your skills grow like neurons learning new behaviour.
The skill tree is built around the architecture of the mind, each node a connection forming, strengthening as you grow stronger.

Built on Souls-like foundations but stripped of anything slow. Fun Fact: the game was a FPS for the first 7 years of development, so it was built with fast reaction deep in it's core!
