About the Game

In The Other Side, play as Ursula, a mother alone amongst the chaos of the fall of the Berlin wall. Your son, with whom you were separated upon the wall’s erection, is waiting for you on the other side. You will need to clear a path amidst the crowd and guard, to reunite once again with your son.

Divert the crowd

Many are curious and want to clear a path to the wall, rediscovering East Berlin. Use your cunning skills to divert the crowd's path thanks to obstacles or signs which will bring them where you want them. Once the path is clear, you can then join the crowd to continue your journey.

Find key locations

Find and photograph key locations across East Berlin for Ursula and her son. A park in which you took a walk, your previous apartment, and as many places as your son might be. Places that changed over the course of 28 long years.

A glimpse into the past

Regularly, short narrative sections will let you play as the son in episodic flashbacks during the wall’s era. Learn more about his personality, and relive the night that everything changed.
