About the Game

Intro

The kind Blacksmith is a visual horror novel with an emphasis on player choice.

You are the Blacksmith. Your country is in the middle of a bloody war, and your whole village has been wiped out by a mysterious metal infecting parasite. But you are resilient. You survived it all and are living a quiet albeit lonely life in your childhood home, until the day an enemy Knight stumbles onto your property, begging for help. You know what ails him and you know he has not got much longer. So what will you do?

Objective

Six days is all you have before the infected Knight succumbs to the parasite. Your only chance to save him is to align his humors - an incredibly daunting task. You are a mere Blacksmith. But you are not completely without guidance. Your late mother - a herbalist - has studied local flora and was developing a miracle cure. She never finished her work, but maybe with the help of her journal, you can.

Concocting a Cure

There are four areas outside of your home to explore. Each day, you will venture out and gather possible ingredients for your cure. Keep in mind that the Knight’s time is limited and so is yours. You won’t be able to test out different concoctions - be mindful and choose ingredients with care. You only have one chance.

Player Choice

What you do and say in those six days has not only an impact on your relationship with the Knight, it also affects the course of the story. The Knight remembers each kindness - and each cruelty.
