About the Game

Haunted House is a horror puzzle game.

You wake in a guest room of an old house, your wife Alice beside you.

Just as you are leaving, a little girl calling herself Annie appears beside the two of you, and makes a request of you.

To take Alice out of this strange mansion, you have no choice but to play Annie's game...

The oil lamp

The only light in Haunted House is the oil lamp in your hand.

The lamp burns through its oil as time passes, and being without light in a pitch black mansion is very dangerous, so pick up oil and matches as you explore.

There are also unusual things in the mansion that will chase you, so remember to run, but do watch your footing at all times. If you fall... you are in serious trouble.

Spirits in the hallways

All through the house are what Annie calls the "residents".

Some of them only stand and mutter to themselves, some chase you because they want to get out, some fear the light and will not move, or choose to blow out the flame in your hand...

So deal with each of them as the situation calls for, and find what Annie wants!

Puzzles

Observe and think, then try to leave this house as fast as you can!

Spirit rooms

Some rooms in the mansion are home to particular residents.

Understand them, persuade them, and then make your choice... but try not to become one of them by accident.

Haunted House contains over 40 CG illustrations recording the pasts of these particular residents.

From those pictures, try to piece together the truth of this mansion...

Endings

There are four endings in total.

The choices you make while escaping keep adding up, and there is no one right answer, only the truest version of you.

And then you will find... none of it is what you expected.

In everyone's heart lives a Vagrant, a Mary, a Shy Ghost, an Adventure Club and a Priest. Like Bob and Angelica, everyone would give up everything for the one they love. And in everyone, there is an Annie.

Only love... can dissolve and break through everything.
