About the Game

The Headlands is a cozy top-down farming strategy about a small Ukrainian village caught between two eras: Soviet-built machinery and a newly independent countryside on the edge of the 2000s. Before you lies a neglected farm waiting for a fresh start.

Start small: an old tractor, a neglected field and limited resources. Step by step, work the land, sow your grain, harvest the crop and gradually build a farm that runs on your decisions.

At the heart of the game is rhythm and balance. You decide which fields to work first, when to invest in new machinery, and how to spend your time, fuel and harvested grain wisely. Market prices have a life of their own — and sometimes the price of grain shifts the very moment it lands in the truck bed. There are no ticking timers or sudden punishments here — only thoughtful planning and steady, tangible progress.

Every tractor here is the one you saw in the fields as a child: the same engine, the same rattle, the same paint flaking off. Maybe you even remember the mustached neighbor — the tractor driver who once let you climb into the cab while he checked something under the hood, and you sat there alone like a cosmonaut in a spaceship, studying every lever and every button.

Every machine in the game has its own character and story. And you won't be left alone with the hardware: there's always a mechanic-mentor at your side who'll give advice, lend a hand, and in his spare time builds machines you won't find in any catalog.

Help your neighbors through contracts, unlock new opportunities and turn a small homestead into a living, well-run farm.

Start small. Give the land time. And watch it all begin to grow.

🌾 Meditative strategy gameplay. Unhurried planning and the freedom to set your own pace.

🚜 Gradual farm growth. From a single tractor to a full-fledged farm with a large fleet and expanded buildings.

📦 A living market and resource balance. Time, fuel and harvest are all connected — and prices won't wait until you're ready.

🔧 Machinery with character. Dozens of machines with history — from the mechanic's homemade "masterpieces" to heavy harvesters.

🤝 Contracts and village life. Help your neighbors and develop the region together.
