The Essence of Thievery is an incremental game with a focus on exploration, discovery, and travel. Command your thief underlings to discover, steal, and wield the power of Essences to push back the Silent Fog and save the world.

Utilize your underlings to steal a variety of Essences to influence the world, strengthen your band of thieves, and ultimately discover the truth behind the Silent Fog disaster.

What is an Essence?

An Essence is the distillation of a concept. For example, when you steal from a guard you're taking a core part of who they are, in this case their Essence of Authority. As a Master Thief, you can then use this Authority on others, such as the guards at a gate to force them to open it for travel. Or steal the Essence of Courage from some adventurers, to make you and your thieves bold enough to enter unfriendly areas.

Essences are many and powerful, and you'll need them all to fight back the Silent Fog that has enveloped the lands.

Main Features:

  • Essences - Discover and wield 9 different Essences, each offering different ways to explore or strengthen your organization.

  • Real Paths - Watch your underlings go on their journeys from start to finish. Each path they take is real, and opening shortcuts will alter their routes and save time.

  • Massive World Map - Your underlings will need to traverse great distances over a detailed, hand drawn map. They will make their way through fields, mountains, tunnels, and more!

  • Interconnected Systems - Each system is interconnected and helps push you forward towards your goal. From feeding your underlings properly with Pantry, or boiling your Wealth away into something else with Alchemy, the choice of which systems to prioritize is up to you!

  • Extensive Equipment - A variety of shoes, bags, essence vials, horses, wagons, and more, to improve your underlings' speed and carrying capacities. There are tools and recipes that even the Essence of Wealth can't buy, hidden throughout the lands.

  • Expansive Upgrade Grid - There are over 1200 upgrades to purchase across 8 different Essences, each with multiple routes to choose from to create your own unique path.
