The Cloudvale Protocol is a story-rich strategy game about hope, trust, and difficult choices. Through a found device, you connect to the Astral Ark — a utopian vessel on the brink of collapse — and assign protocols to restore its failing systems, preserve its precious technologies, or spend them to help the boy instead.
As you explore the Ark, get to know the boy, and uncover what happened aboard the vessel, you will be pulled between protecting one life and protecting a world that could change countless others.
The game’s strategy is light, but meaningful. You choose where to invest your limited actions, which opportunities to pursue, and which risks to take. Every choice forces you to decide what matters most when you cannot save everything.
The Astral Ark is a gift from a long-gone civilization: a repository of extraordinary technologies, cultural artifacts, and possibilities carried across the stars. It might be a utopia, but something sinister is festering in its depths.
The Ark hovers above the world of Nitta. When a Nittian ship crashes into it, your device is activated, connecting you to a stranded boy and giving you the means to help him survive. But is his presence here an accident?
Through your device, you are given the means to help them both. But what is best for the Ark may not be best for the boy — and what saves him may place the promise the Ark carries at even greater risk.
Protocols are the commands through which you act on the world. Every hand you draw forces you to choose between urgent needs and long-term goals. It also raises the risk of collapse in the current sector and moves the clocks forward.
Every time you draw protocols, time pushes forward across the Ark. Systems break down, situations escalate, and paths open or close. Clocks force you to make the most of your limited means — or take the risk of pushing farther into the Ark in search of more.
The boy’s journey across the Ark drives the main story, but side quests and one-off tasks let you explore new areas of the vessel while rewarding you with resources, tools, and knowledge that expand your options.
