About the Game

The Chronicles of Nesis brings together some of the best elements of the fifth-generation RPGs including: pre-rendered graphics, tactical combat, visible enemy encounters, seamless battle transitions, and configurable and class skills. Join Elias, an unassuming windmill mechanic, as he discovers the dangers lurking beneath his own sleepy village and the history of the Anam.

The Chronicles of Nesis represents years of work from a solo dev. It is an attempt to capture the seemingly lost artistic execution of the highly praised video games of the 1990s.

Reviving the lost art styles of the 1990 JRPGs through pre-rendered backgrounds, perspective projection, and traditional pixel art sprites

Get the best of both tactical turn-based combat and world exploration. Combat seamlessly transitions between exploration and tactical combat overlay, letting you jump right into and out of combat. Consider when and how you engage enemies or possibly avoid combat altogether. But be careful, some enemies might appear when you least expect it

Skills can be learned by progressing your class's skill tree, which are custom to your class, or by finding Relics. Relics may be equipped according to relic slots found in equipment. Both class skills and relic skills increase in Proficiency upon use in combat unlocking powerful improvements

Key Features:

  • Tactical combat

  • No random encounters; enemies can be seen running around

  • Class skill trees

  • Relic system enabling augmenting in-combat abilities

  • Pre-rendered backgrounds

  • Music inspired by RPG classics
