About the Game

The Call of Darkness is a story-driven adult visual novel set in a distant sci-fi future, where you play a war veteran on the brink of a new chapter. The embers of a devastating conflict that nearly split humanity are still warm, and as the newly minted Captain of a sensual, motley crew, you’re ready for a more laid-back adventure.

But a prayer whispered in those dark days of war has stirred something Ancient — a hunger from beyond the Darkness, reaching and creeping into your dreams. It has plans for you, and it doesn’t take no for an answer. Its messenger, born from your deepest desires, is both gifted and a guide—but she needs your help before you can face the horrors to come together. Survival may exact a price that may shatter your very soul—as your past collides with a future far beyond what you imagined, and every victory demands a sacrifice.

Welcome to the Antares! She is a decommissioned Earth Gov destroyer, now in private service—and your new berth as her Captain. You have just been assigned to her by H.P. Industries and have yet to meet your rambunctious crew.
