Unlike most text-based adventure games, this title features a health system and a money system.

Regarding the health system:

First, when faced with choices, making the wrong decision may result in a reduction of health points.

Second, the game includes text-based combat. Players must make correct combat decisions based on information provided by the text and the scene. Winning a battle may yield rewards (though not always); losing a battle will always result in a reduction of health points.

Third, players can use money to purchase items that restore health points. As the story progresses, some NPCs may also offer items as part of exchanges. There are other ways to restore health points as well.

Regarding the money system:

Silver is used as currency in this game. Silver can be used to cover expenses that arise during gameplay. Expenses are divided into two categories: mandatory expenses and optional expenses. If you lack sufficient silver for a mandatory expense, one health point will be deducted as an alternative.

Silver can be used to purchase items. Some of these items may help you achieve a good ending, while others may be completely useless. For example, you can use silver to buy strategy kits, but the hints inside may merely provide supplementary story information—they may not help you distinguish between good and bad NPCs, nor will they tell you how to deal with them. Of course, strategy kits may also provide useful hints, and it can be assured that they will never deliberately mislead the Emissary.
