Turn-based tactics meets fast-paced RTS
With its terrain-dependent movement and hex-based maps, Tegula features tactical elements typically known from 4X games. But in Tegula's fast-paced environment everyone plays at the same time, just like in a classical RTS.
Optimize your economy, recruit a large army and outplay your opponents. Distract your enemies with run-bys and skirmishes until you are ready for the fight, or rush to victory by capturing strategic objectives on the map.
Ambush the opposing forces out of the darkness of the forest, or flank them with cavalry. Outrange their defenses with siege units to force a fight, or deploy elephants to meet them head-on.
Historical setting with asymmetric factions
Lead an army of the Roman Republic, the City of Carthage or the Parthian Empire. Take advantage of your faction's specific strengths and dictate the rules of engagement to exploit your enemies' weaknesses.
As a general of the Roman Republic, heavy infantry units and engineering at the forefront of technology form the backbone of your army. Use the superior organization and tactical order of your troops to defeat your enemies.
Backed by it's mercantilistic economy, the Carthaginian forces heavily rely on mercenaries from all around the Mediterranean. Specialist units from the Iberian peninsula, North-Africa, as well as friendly Greek city-states give you the right tool for every job.
The Parthian Empire is famous for its cavalry tactics. Paired with superior archery, and the speed of lightly armored units, your army can wear down opposing forces even before the battle starts. Camels provide your forces with ammunition and supplies to ensure you will persevere.
