Backstory – Survival Project

It started with good intentions. In a world buckling under climate collapse, famine, and failing governments, the Survival Project was meant to be salvation. Deep underground, scientists worked to design a cure for hunger, disease, and human fragility itself. The plan: reengineer the immune system, making humanity resistant to the harsh new world.

The early trials looked promising—stronger, healthier test subjects with greater endurance. But the stability didn’t last. The altered virus designed to carry the “cure” spread faster than any firewall could contain. Subjects weren’t strengthened for long… they fell, one by one, to the infection. Their minds broke first, leaving only primal instincts. Their bodies, though still human, turned relentless—driven by hunger not for food, but for the living.

The labs sealed themselves shut, but the infection found its way out. First the cities, then the countryside, then the world itself fell silent. Broadcasts faded to static. Military outposts were overrun. Nations collapsed under the weight of their own creation. The last transmission whispered only this:

“The Survival Project has failed.”

Now, years later, the world above is a shell of its former self. The infected wander endlessly, and survivors are left to pick through the ruins. Rumors spread of hidden underground facilities—sealed bunkers where the first experiments began, caches of supplies untouched, and maybe even answers to what really happened. Was it an accident, a desperate gamble gone wrong… or something more deliberate?

In the end, survival is no longer a theory. It is the only test left. Every day is a fight against the dead, against hunger, against the truth buried beneath the earth. And in this dying world, only one question matters:

Endure the dead. Survive the living.

Zombies Aren’t the Only Threat

Survival means more than avoiding the undead. As the world’s supply of food and drink dwindles, the elements become just as hostile. The changing seasons and unpredictable weather will test your ability to adapt. Can you find shelter before a cold snap hits, or will hunger force you into a deadly confrontation for the last can of food?

Multiplayer Survival at its Core

In this harsh environment, other players may be your greatest allies—or your deadliest enemies. Team up to build strongholds, scavenge for resources, and defend against the zombie threat. But beware: trust is a rare commodity in a world where betrayal might be the only path to survival. The multiplayer experience is dynamic and unpredictable, just like the world you’re trying to survive in.

Explore, Adapt, and Overcome

Navigate through a detailed, open-world map filled with forests, abandoned cities, and hidden dangers. Each corner of the world has its own story, and every choice you make influences your fate. Will you brave the zombie-infested streets to search for supplies or take your chances surviving in the wilderness? Adapt to the environment, outlast your enemies, and shape your path in a game where survival is the only goal.

Development Disclaimer

Survival Project is in active development. A closed alpha will begin soon, giving early testers the opportunity to help shape the project through direct feedback. Once a core gameplay loop is in place, we will open access more broadly so the public can experience the game and begin working their way through its evolving world.
