About the Game

Stringate is a puzzle game about solving level-based puzzles using 2D portal mechanics. Puzzles feature more than just portals, every other game mechanic is designed to work together with portals seamlessly. You can also create your own levels with the built-in level editor and break the physics.

The game includes these mechanics:

  • Moving portals

  • Portal polarity (reverse exit velocity on the horizontal axis for polarized portals)

  • Moving platforms

  • Anti-gravity funnels with polarity and adjustable exit speed, combined with moving portals

  • Light bridges that can turn into moving platforms when exiting a moving portal

  • Gels that interact with walls, platforms, and objects

  • Lasers for signaling

  • Energy fields that destroy objects or block portal creation
