Will you die like a coward?
Your stomach growls. Your hands shake. Your pockets are empty—not a penny to fill your belly, let alone settle the debts that haunt you day and night.
Your grandfather’s final words echo in your mind:
“A man may fall a thousand times in this life.
But each time, he must find the courage to rise again.”
You stand. You head to the church on the corner.
A free meal might await you… but one question lingers:
How will you live come tomorrow?
This city offers many paths to survive.
You could dig through every trash can, scraping hope from what others discard.
With a few tweaks, a dead radio sings again. A broken lamp flickers to life.
Sell your finds at a street stall, hoard every penny,
until you pay off your debts and rent a tiny shop of your own—
could you return to a normal life?
Or you can take a darker road.
Under the cover of night, in a silent alley, pick a lock, slip inside,
and take what’s valuable—trading it for cash before dawn breaks.
A name on a wanted list fades with time.
But some things you steal can never be returned.
Like the look in your own eyes when you stare into the mirror.
Or perhaps you’re tired of being pushed around by gangs.
You find others who also refuse to be broken.
The tent city is filled with the lost and forgotten—
ex‑carpenters, street vendors, veterans.
All they need is a warm bed and a hot meal.
Provide them food, shelter, and safety, and they will stand by you.
Slowly, they call you boss.
Slowly, your power grows.
And the gangs that once bullied you?
They begin to fear you.
