A First-Person Survival Sandbox with Crafting, Automation, and a Modular Moving Base by a Passionate Indie Studio
Steel Ark is set in a fractured world, long after a devastating technogenic collapse. You play as a survivor who finds an old train and turns it into a mobile base. Explore the ruins of a lost civilization, fight off enemies, extract and manage resources, manufacture components, and build automated systems to scale your production. Play solo or with friends as you upgrade your train, unlock new biomes, and slowly bring life back to the wasteland.

A Moving Base
The train is your base, transport, storage, and safe zone. You can add carriages for labs, storage, or protection. You’ll also paint it, decorate it, and customize it to survive in different environments. When you enter dangerous zones, you’ll need to prepare by installing special modules, like radiation shields or air filters.
Survive, Fight, and Automate
You’ll face wild creatures, bandits, and deadly weather. Craft weapons, armor, and gadgets to survive. Build turrets and defenses to protect your train and outposts. As you grow stronger, you’ll unlock ways to automate your work and run large production chains without needing to do everything by hand.
Management Mode
From inside the train, you can enter a top-down planning mode. Here, you can lay out buildings, manage logistics, set train routes, and organize your entire base network. It helps you stay in control as your production grows and becomes more complex.
Multiplayer
Play Solo or in Co-op with Up to Four Players! Split roles, explore together, and defend your train as a team. Co-op adds new ways to play, and makes things like automation and exploration even more fun.
Customization
You can customize your weapons, train, buildings, and outfit. Mods will also be supported. Players will be able to add new content and personalize their experience.
