About the Game

In Sponge Break the rules are agonizingly simple: navigate your raft down the river. That's it. Easy, right?

You and up to 3 friends are sponges trying to escape the tyranny of the kitchen sink, crammed onto a raft held together by wishful thinking, armed with your trusty plunger-hook. Use proximity voice chat to work together, or don't. Steer down the rapids to escape, solve puzzles to open pathways, navigate environmental dangers, try not to get set on fire, and fight beavers… yes, beavers.

1 to 4 sponges, drop-in, co-op gameplay.

So that friend who's "5 minutes away" can show up 40 minutes later and immediately make it worse. Playable solo too, no judgment.

Proximity voice chat.

Sponges lip-sync to your voice chat. Will you sing a shanty, scream a warning, or just listen to your crew fall apart in real time?

Real physics, real consequences.

Navigate down the world's most dangerous rapids. Steer wrong, flip it and lose all your stuff, take a hit, and the thing comes apart under you. Every run has at least one moment nobody planned and everybody remembers.

Actual teamwork tools.

A plunger that functions as a grappling hook, throw anything that isn't bolted down, and a shared raft stash for the loot you'll definitely lose.

100+ unlockable cosmetic options.

Customize your sponge's eyes, eyebrows, mouths, hats, your inflatable buoys, even your plunger. Plus emotes, for celebrating a clean run or pointing very clearly at whoever sank it… It was Doug. It's always Doug.

Level based gameplay, across multiple biomes.

The full journey will take you through sewers, rivers, abandoned facilities, and more! Hang out at safehouses between levels to patch up, revive, restock, and have a quick argument before setting sail again.

If that's not enough, other features:

  • Simple controls with controller support

  • Shoot some hoops or go bowling

  • A bomb strapped to a rat. Yes, we're serious.

  • "Save" local wildlife

  • Gather valuables and pawn them

  • Punch your friends. It's a survival technique and cheaper than group therapy!

  • Take flight with your raft by hitting insane ramps and rails

  • Grapple like a Ninja. Ninja costume not included.

  • Find hidden supply caches

  • Equip airhorns to make sure the only thing more fragile than your raft is your social circle.
