In a kingdom under Imperial control, a helmeted mercenary named “Toad” scrapes by each day. Living hand to mouth, he never draws women to his side... But one night, after aiding a wretched old woman, Toad obtains the Spindle that spins the “threads of fate,” granting him an unusual power...
