About the Game

Sphere Shootout is an online PvP tactical shooter.

The visuals are 2D, but the system has 3D height.

There is half-height cover in the game. Players can crouch behind cover and shoot. Bullets can fly over the cover and hit the enemy on the other side, but the enemy on the other side cannot hit a player crouching behind cover.

If a player wants to gain a longer view distance, they need to stand up and aim from behind cover. At that point, the enemy on the other side of the cover can hit the player.

The game uses a breathing-based health regeneration system. As long as the player is not hit continuously, their health will recover to full after a period of time.

The game also supports long-range aiming. The longest-range sniper rifle can see enemies as far as eight screens away, making it possible to ambush and kill enemies before they notice.

There is also a footstep indicator ring in the game. It appears in shadowed areas that are outside the player's view. As long as the player moves quietly, they can detect the enemy before the enemy detects them.

With the core mechanics above, the game is no longer mainly about shooting skill, but about movement and concealment. This turns a simple shooting game into a tactical game.
