About the Game

A place built from things you almost remember

Jennifer wakes alone in an endless maze of quiet, uncanny spaces with no memory of how she arrived there.

Yellow rooms stretch impossibly into the distance. Forgotten hallways blur together into strange nostalgic places that feel welcoming, yet profoundly wrong. Familiar patterns repeat where they shouldn't. Not a single other person in sight. Something about this place feels... off.

As Jennifer searches for answers, fragments of her past begin to surface: memories of family, work, a lost relationship, and the life she can no longer quite remember. But the deeper she travels, the less certain those memories become.

Inspired by the original unsettling feeling of the Backrooms and liminal spaces, Spaces Between reimagines liminal horror in striking high fidelity, focused on psychological horror through isolation, disorientation, loneliness, and quiet dread.

No screaming monster chases. No hazmat suits. No handheld cameras. Just you, your memories, and an endless claustrophobic place that should not exist.

A Different Kind of Backrooms Horror

While many Backrooms games focus on survival, found footage aesthetics, or multiplayer chaos, Spaces Between returns to the uncanny atmosphere that made the original Backrooms concept so disturbing in the first place.

Explore beautiful but deeply unsettling liminal spaces inspired by the iconic Backrooms image and other classic liminal spaces, forgotten commercial interiors, uncanny nostalgic architecture, and dreamlike impossible places that seem connected in ways they shouldn't be.

Spaces Between is built to look beautiful without sacrificing performance, delivering striking high-fidelity environments while remaining highly optimized across a wide range of hardware, including Steam Deck.
