About the Game

Play as a famous philosopher, debating and outwitting your opponents by playing idea cards and writing secret books. Build your deck, discover synergies, and gather the necessary ideas the Discussion Card requires to win the debate. But beware—some ideas may be unpopular, and even if you're right, you could still lose the debate due to your unpopularity!

Key Features:

  • Choose from 6 distinct Traits: Passion, Humor, Empathy, Reason, Knowledge, and Cunning. Your ideas are linked to these traits, and you’ll need to gather diverse ideas to win. But if you’re feeling clever, change the subject of the discussion to better align with your strengths!

  • Win by Popularity or Logic: With two distinct win conditions, you can adapt to any situation. Is your opponent outsmarting you? Maybe it’s time to skip reason and appeal to the emotions of the audience instead!

  • Play as a Philosopher: Step into the shoes of 15 legendary philosophers, each connected to two traits. Your philosopher shapes your strategy, starting hand, and potential bonuses. Will you argue with the rationality of Aristotle or the idealism of Plato?

  • Write and Publish Books: With this unique mechanic, Philosophers can write books to surprise their opponents! Will you pursue fame, wealth, or glory? Or can you write down the effects of your idea cards to use later? Wait for the perfect moment, then publish your book to defeat your opponent!

  • Ideas are for Everyone: Tap into the Common Knowledge Pool for new ideas, steal cards from opponents, and gain unique books for your Philosophers! No microtransactions – all cards are available from the start. Enjoy free seasonal updates, and with future expansions, only one player needs to buy them for their opponent in that match to use. Play, share, and grow together!

  • Change the game: Use the "Change Subject" mechanic to shift the discussion in your favor, bending the rules of the debate to suit your beliefs. Stay aligned with your philosophy, or broaden your approach by exploring new traits and ideas! In the art of Sophistry, victory is the only truth—how you win is up to you.

  • Philosophize with the world: Create thought-provoking or quirky questions and share them with others. Earn Knowledge Points to craft even more questions or enhance your philosophers' books. Craft your questions, sharpen your mind, and lead the discussion!
