About the Game

About the Game:

In this game, you step into the shoes of an examining magistrate, charged with wading through the mountainous criminal dossiers of Monteririo. From the subtle threads and traces buried within these records, you will catch glimpses of a darkness far more profound than mere crime.

Presented in a top-down, first-person perspective, your entire field of vision is your workspace—offering a hauntingly immersive experience of a judge’s daily toil.

This project is a multi-threaded visual novel. Here, you are invited to take your seat at the magistrate's desk and immerse yourself in the tense rhythm of a judge’s daily labor, or engage in brief exchanges with your superior and other local figures to unspool the narrative. A web of intricate storylines and varied destinies awaits your discovery.

About the Story:

To preside in Monteririo is no enviable fate—especially for a northerner like yourself. This royal appointment is, in truth, a decree of exile, casting you to a southern frontier a thousand leagues from home. With no recourse but to endure, you find yourself bound to the relentless grind of your station.

Your saving grace is your superior, a fellow magistrate of a lenient disposition. His only demand: process the daily influx of cases with haste—the more, the better. Whether this is a mercy or a curse remains to be seen.

Hope, however, arrives on the heels of a letter from Bianca. There is a path back to the North, back to the tranquil peace of your homeland—provided you can endure until the appointed hour.

Hear nothing. Speak nothing. Pay no mind to the stray notes and bribes tucked between the pages, nor the suspicious redactions marring the ink. So long as you remain indifferent, the way home stays open.

Or does it?

A parting word of counsel:

Every signature carries its own peril; let each stroke of your pen be guided by caution.

Regardless, welcome to Monteririo.
