🧩 Gameplay
Shards of the Library is a story-driven simulation and puzzle game with farming elements and mysterious events that unfold within a strange library.
Players can:
Explore a small open-world village with seasonal changes and a day/night cycle
Complete 90+ quests involving farming, cooking, potion crafting, and toolmaking
Interact with 40+ unique NPCs and engage in systems like music performance, painting, and writing
Enter procedurally generated forests and caves
Build relationships, discover secrets, and collect artifacts
The game also features fishing, monster encounters, item crafting (70+), farming crops (15+ types), skill learning (50+), and more.
Even after completing the main quests, players can continue enjoying daily farm life at their own pace.
📖 Game Story
One day, the protagonist receives a letter from their grandfather, asking them to take care of his farm while he goes on an unexpected journey.
After arriving and settling into a quiet rural life, the protagonist visits the town library—only to discover that something strange is happening through the books they borrow.
In a world where ordinary life and mystery are intertwined, players will gradually uncover hidden truths.
🛠 Developer's Note
This game is a solo-developed project created as part of a graduation portfolio, using skills learned from CSE360 and CSE412 courses.
It was inspired by titles such as Stardew Valley, Mabinogi, and Princess Maker.
All systems listed above are already implemented and playable.
Future updates may include polish, bug fixes, and small expansions based on player feedback.
