About the Game

Dominate the Roman Senate

Senatus is a strategy card game set in the heart of the Roman Republic. You aren't fighting with swords, but with rhetoric and political maneuvering. Every match is a high-stakes debate where you must sway the majority of the Senate to your side.

Master the Vote

The Senate floor is a 5x5 grid. Each card represents your political influence, featuring specific directions of attack and defense. When you place a card, its "influence arrows" can convert surrounding rival cards to your color, potentially triggering a chain reaction across the entire chamber.

Rise Through the Ranks

You begin as a common Senator. As you win debates, your Relevance grows.

  • Aedile

  • Tribune

  • Praetor

  • Consul

Be careful: political life is volatile. If your Relevance hits zero, your career ends in obscurity.

Explore the Eternal City

Between sessions, you have 7 days to prepare for the next vote. Walk through the Roman Forum, visit the Temple of Jupiter, or scout the Campus Martius to find new allies and stronger cards. You’ll always know the next debate topic in advance, so use your time to build a deck that counters your rivals' agendas.
