To receive her mysterious inheritance, Jane, a maiden too bright for her time, must find a husband before the season ends. But this is no easy feat! In a new environment, she must not only earn an impeccable reputation and learn how to live in high society but she must also see through the many plots unfolding before her.
Will Jane lead a single life of her own or will she find a partner for life? If so - will he be a kind and gallant heir? A distant, yet insanely intelligent widower? Or maybe an unscrupulous officer who wants to live life to the fullest?
One thing is for certain: among the conspiracies, rumors, and slander, Jane must not only find someone who is ready to marry her, but above all else, she must fight for her own happiness. Even at the risk of her own reputation…
