Sea Drifter

Set sail in a hand-crafted top-down ocean. Hunt pirates, scout fogged islands and claim them for your own, break dungeon-like strongholds, fish the shoals, and upgrade your ship piece by piece — from leaky rowboat to the warship that ends the Drowned King.

About the Game

The sea takes everyone eventually. Make it earn you.

Sea Drifter is a top-down pirate survival adventure. You start with a rowboat, three apples, and 25 gold. Everything after that — the ship, the flag, the legend — you take from the ocean yourself.

⚓ Four seas, one way out

Sail outward through four escalating regions, from calm Coastal Waters to the Forgotten Ocean, where the maelstrom churns and the Drowned King waits. Weather rolls in as you sail — storms bring harder foes and rarer bounty.

🏝️ Every island is a question mark

Islands appear on your chart as fogged unknowns. Scout them to learn what they are — jungle, wreck cove, ruins, trader camp, volcanic peak, or reef. Push inland to clear their dangers, weigh honest odds shown before every landing, then claim the island as your own. Claimed islands produce resources over time, patch your hull at mates' rates… and get raided by pirates who will strip your stores if you don't sail back and defend them.

🏴‍☠️ Strongholds and sea lords

Far out in the deep, pirate strongholds sprawl across bridged island clusters — dungeon-like dens with roaming garrisons. Very hard to clear. Very worth it. Duel named bosses: the Pirate King, the Storm Admiral who only rides in with the tempest, and the keg-hurling Drowned King himself.

⛵ Your ship is your build

Six hulls to earn, each with its own upgrade ceiling — no comical cannon on a dinghy. Fit hull plating, sails, cargo nets, cannon, and spyglass; every fitting is visible on your ship. Sell, save, and decide: another upgrade, or the next hull?

🎣 And when the cannons cool…

Cast a line into passing shoals, dig up buried treasure from bottled charts, run escort contracts, trade with camps, and chase achievements from First Blood to The Sea Remembers.

  • Persistent voyage world — islands, strongholds, and grudges are saved

  • Honest risk: the odds you're shown are the odds you get

  • Handcrafted 2D art, readable at a glance

  • Short sessions welcome; the sea saves your place
