About the Game

RyuuKotoba (Flowing Words) is a Japanese character recognition arcade game built for people studying Japanese, people curious about it, or anyone who wants to keep their skills sharp...or has nothing better to do at the moment. It is your "well, technically I did study" cheat code.

Basic loop: learn, play, drink tea?, learn again, play again.

Learn
Each section comes with a reference page covering Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji - broken into bite-sized pieces so nothing feels overwhelming. You also might learn something new!

Play
Characters float across the screen - collect the correct one, avoid the wrong ones, build your combo multiplier up to 20x. Simple loop, some challenge involved.

What is included
Hiragana, katakana and 104 Kanji N5 across 36 gameplay modes. It'll help you recognise characters, readings and meanings. It won't teach you grammar, speaking or how to hold a conversation - but that's what textbooks are for.
