About the Game

Rite of Osiris: A Slow-Burn Survival Horror Game

A love letter to those who enjoy classic survival horror games such as the Amnesia series, Outlast, Alien: Isolation, and the Resident Evil series.

You are a lone 19th-century explorer, looking for secrets somewhere in Cairo, Egypt. You are forced to look for shelter as a sandstorm rolls in, your curiosity drives you deeper as you explore an ancient Egyptian ruin, eventually delving deeper under the sands into crystal caves and tombs guarded by Egyptian gods and monsters.

A slow-burn, atmospheric descent into ancient Egyptian ruins where every sound, every shadow, and every misused tool can get you killed. Stay unseen. Keep your light alive. Uncover the past by listening to notes from the previous expedition crew, and prepare for the worst.

Survive by staying unseen

  • Hide behind objects, under cover, and in darkness when threats patrol nearby.

  • Turn your light off to disappear, but risk losing your way and your nerve.

  • When something finds you anyway, your only option is to sprint, slam doors, and pray you picked the right path.

A world you can touch

Everything is physical and interactable: lift, rotate, drag, stack, tip, and break objects to search, distract, or make space to progress. Doors open by hand, slowly, with deliberate movement, just like you would in real life.

Scavenge, craft, endure

  • Search the ruins for materials and recipes to craft survival tools like bandages and smoke bombs.

  • Manage a limited inventory and decide what’s worth carrying deeper underground.

  • Use essential tools (like a crowbar) to pry open, break through, and force paths forward.

Piece together the past

Listen to scattered notes, traces of the expedition, and the growing evidence of what followed the previous crew underground.

There are places under the desert that should stay sealed.
