Return to Nangrim is a dark first-person survival adventure set in an abandoned dwarven world. Explore an ancient mountain kingdom, gather resources, forge tools and weapons, cook, brew, and practice alchemy as you try to reclaim the mountains with your animal companion.

The Mountain Has Fallen Silent
An undying shadow hangs over the mountain like an ancient curse. Decay and bitter cold have spread through the crumbling stone, poisoning the very heart of the earth. Halls that once rang with life now lie silent and broken, buried in a darkness where even echoes seem afraid to linger.

Enter the abandoned mountain realm as a dwarven survivor and descend into a world of cold stone, deep darkness, and forgotten history. Gather what the mountain provides. Prepare your equipment. Reclaim the crafts of your ancestors and discover what brought an entire dwarven civilisation to ruin.
Survive the Depths
Every journey into the depths requires preparation. Darkness, hunger, harsh weather, difficult terrain, and the creatures within the mountain determine how far you can venture and whether you return safely.
Explore deserted halls, mines, and settlements. Search for resources, food, and tools. Plan your routes carefully and learn when it is time to retreat towards the light.
The mountain is not truly empty. Strange creatures have settled in its depths, while shadows have taken hold of its halls. Reclaim the mountain and awaken the fires of its ancient forges.
Axes, hammers, and shields will help you defend yourself. Yet your torch may prove just as valuable. It lights the path ahead and keeps certain dangers at bay.
Master the Crafts of the Dwarves
Survival in Nangrim involves more than gathering whatever you can find. You must learn how to process and refine raw materials, create tools, and prepare supplies for the journeys ahead.
Work the forge and rediscover the ancient smithing techniques of the dwarves. Craft tools, weapons, and equipment, then improve them for longer and more dangerous expeditions. Choose whether a hammer, a battle axe, or another carefully made tool is best suited to the task before you.
Prepare traditional dwarven meals in the tavern, brew beer, and use alchemy to create useful mixtures. Careful preparation allows you to travel farther and endure the depths for longer.
Crafting is not separate from the adventure. It is how you survive the mountain and begin to make it habitable once more.
Explore a Realm Shaped by Dwarven History
Descend through living quarters, workshops, mines, fortresses, and places long forgotten. Every location bears the marks of the generations of dwarves who once lived and worked there.
Architecture, tools, personal belongings, and abandoned workplaces offer fragments of the Stonebeards’ story. The deeper you travel, the more you learn about their final days and the events that silenced Nangrim.
Examine your surroundings, combine the objects you discover, and use the remains of the old civilisation to open new paths. Beyond the direct route lie optional stories, collectibles, and hidden discoveries.
Read What the Mountain Remembers
Hilduir, the runic language of the dwarves, is woven into the world and its history. Learn fragments of the language and use them to interpret inscriptions, symbols, ancient records, and the whispers of the mountain itself.
The knowledge of the Stonebeards was never preserved in a single chronicle. It remains within their halls, upon their tools, and in the signs they left behind. Those who observe closely and learn to understand what they find will uncover far more than those who merely search the ruins.
Return to the Depths
Each expedition leads farther into the abandoned mountain. Return with new resources, stronger equipment, and a deeper understanding of what happened there. Prepare for the next descent and follow the traces of the Stonebeards towards their source.
Explore. Prepare. Forge. Descend. Return with answers. Or do not return at all.
