About the Game

Remote Aphrodite is a 2D run-and-gun platformer designed for players who crave a serious challenge. Run, jump, shoot, and spin through five brutal stages, each with its own theme, boss, and movement-altering ability that reshapes how you play.

Take control of a genetically engineered homunculus, a rejected prototype with both male and female traits, created for unknown purposes, as they set out to track down the one responsible for their creation. Along the way, uncover the truth about them, and perhaps even about yourself. Assuming you make it that far.

Features

  • Five handcrafted levels, each with its own look, mechanics, and atmosphere.

  • Every stage revolves around a unique movement powerup that you unlock mid-level and lose afterward.

    • Examples include double jump, wall jump, and hover, with the rest left for players to discover.

  • Battery System: Collect batteries to charge a defensive shield usable only in boss fights, giving you a few extra hits when you need it most.

  • Hellish Difficulty: Expect brutal platforming, punishing hazards, and bosses that demand focus and adaptability. Death comes often, but quick respawns keep you right in the action.

  • Soundtrack: A mix of outsider and esoteric tracks that match the game’s strange, uneasy world.

Characters

The Homunculus
Not much is known about them at the beginning, other than they're determined to find their creator, fighting their way toward the heart of the corporation that made and discarded them. Sometimes you can see their thoughts after death.

Victoria
An old-model robot designed to look like a machine, even though the technology to create human-like androids already existed. After losing her job, she now oversees the company’s massive mining operation. Her motives and loyalty remain unclear.

Golden Bunny
He kinda sits there.
