About the Game

Year 1987-88. The beginning of Perestroika has stirred Soviet society. People in the city of M start listening to rock music and actively express their opinions on various topics. The Perestroika wave even reaches closed cities, and in the city of M, unrest begins—how will future events impact the classified research at the local scientific research institute?

About the Game

Three characters experience their own unique perspectives against the backdrop of an unclear cataclysm in the atmosphere of the late USSR. Each hero has their own view of the situation, trapped within a room or building where they happened to be when the events began. The player will solve various tasks and puzzles, hide, and unravel the “Red Night” incident.

By exploring the world around them, the player will find clues about the nature of the disaster and try to figure out how to stop it. As the game progresses, the personal stories of each character, closely intertwined with their struggle to survive, are revealed.

The game genre can be described as a story-driven horror with puzzle elements. The setting—a sci-fi 1980s USSR—immerses players in a tense and captivating story, full of secrets and chilling revelations.

Characters

  • A biologist, lab assistant in the city of M’s research institute. Aged 36. She once held a high-ranking position but was demoted due to negligence, which deeply wounded her pride, as she has been in science for over 15 years. A skilled professional, she quickly adapts to work, though often neglects basic safety protocols. She graduated from the NSU biology department as one of the top students and defended a dissertation on the role of genetics in tumor formation. After graduation, she continued research in genetics and cytology, exploring the potential for gene manipulation and the impact on cellular life processes. She first encountered scandal when accused of intentionally causing cancer in a person. Zosya denied the allegations, but to hush the story, she was transferred from Novosibirsk to the city of M’s research institute.

  • An unemployed 18-year-old radio enthusiast. Lives with her mother, Raya. Katya comes from a family of scientists. Her mother is a chemist, a senior researcher at the city of M’s research institute. Her father, Sergey, was a talented radio physicist who instilled in Katya a love for radio from a young age.

  • Studied at the F.E. Dzerzhinsky Higher School of the KGB, serving since 1980. Intelligent, diligent. In 1982, as part of a special reconnaissance group during a special operation, he dealt with the issue of chemical weapon use in Afghanistan [CLASSIFIED].
